Joseph Michael Metcalf Jr., of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away after a brief battle with cancer

June 23, 2023.

Joe was born May 11, 1957, to Joseph Metcalf Sr. and LaVonne (Boushey) Metcalf in Grand Forks,

North Dakota. Joe was united in marriage to Marge Olsen Aug. 6, 1988, in Boca Raton, Florida.

Joe was a graduate of Sauk Centre Senior High Class of 1975. He competed at the Minnesota State High School Tennis Tournament. He also was a member of the high school football team.

After high school, Joe enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard. He proudly served for six years alongside his father, brothers and sisters.

Joe's work life was construction. He worked various construction jobs in North Dakota, Minnesota and for the majority of his life in Florida.

Joe enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends and loved being in the outdoors, camping, canoeing and fishing.

Joe is survived by his wife Marge and mother LaVonne Metcalf; siblings Gary (Mary) Metcalf, East Grand Forks; John (Deb) Metcalf; James (Mary) Metcalf of Sauk Centre; Deb (Walter) Cole, Brooklyn Park; Patrick Metcalf, Jensen Beach, Florida; Thomas Metcalf, Sauk Centre; Nancy (Kevin) Guenther, Carver; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sr.;

brother Larry and his son, Joseph.

A Memorial Service will be held in Sauk Centre at a future date.
